| That Vital Big Toe |

Dizzy Dean was one of the greatest major league pitchers of the 1930's. Yet, a turn of events dramatically altered his career. During an all-star game a line drive struck and broke his big toe. Dean tried to resume pitching before it completely healed, which resulted in a sore arm. He lost his blazing fast ball and ended his career a mediocre pitcher.
To some the big toe may seem like such a small thing. Yet, it had a huge impact on this ball player.
In the picture of the coming judgment, Jesus commends those who performed small acts of kindness visiting the sick, clothing the naked and feeding the hungry. Those consigned to eternal punishment failed in these small things.
Do not feel that because your abilities and opportunities are small they are unimportant. The Father will not forget the love and kindness shown by His children.
Oh, to be like Thee!

디지 딘은 1930년대 메이저리그에 가장 위대한 투수 중 한사람이었습니다. 하지만, 한 사건이 그의 경력을 극적으로 바꿔버렸습니다. 올스타 경기도중 직선타구에 얻어맞아 엄지발가락이 골절된 것입니다. 딘은 완전히 회복되기 전에 피칭감각을 회복하려고 노력했고, 그 결과 팔에까지 염증이 생기게 되었습니다. 그는 그의 빛나는 강속구를 잃어버렸고, 그의 경력은 삼류투수로 마감되었습니다.
어떤 사람들에게 엄지발가락 부상은 별 것 아닌 일일 수도 있습니다. 하지만 야구선수에게는 막대한 영향을 미치는 일입니다.
우리가 맞이할 심판 때에도 예수님은 병든 자를 찾아보고, 헐벗은 이를 입히고, 굶주린 이들에게 먹을 것을 주는 작은 친절의 손길을 베푸는 자들을 칭찬하실 것입니다. 이런 작은 일들에 충성치 못한 사람들은 영원한 형벌에 처해지게 될 것입니다.
당신의 능력이나 당신에게 주어진 기회가 작은 것이라고 해서 그것들을 소홀히 여기지는 마십시오. 하나님께서는 당신의 자녀들이 베푼 아주 작은 사랑의 손길과 친절도 결코 잊지 않으시는 분입니다.

주의 기름부음 받기 위해
저 자신과 제가 가진 모든 것을 가지고 나아가오니
