V: Good morning, Don.
D: Good morning, Vicki.
V: This morning's Power for Today reminds me that we need to get rid of lots of things we don't need.
D: But in the reading the author tells us that she found lots of "memorabilia."
V: "Memorabilia" are things that bring memories to people.
D: The author found good memories, like the hospital bracelet, but also bad memories, like the "parking stubs."
V: The "parking stubs" were probably parts of parking tickets she had received.
D: There were also lots of cards with names of friends on them.
V: The author says that some names were "dim" in her memory.
D: A "dim" light is a light that is barely burning. So, a "dim" memory is a very small memory.
V: But she also remembers well the ladies who "knitted caps and booties" for her babies.
D: "Knitting" is a special kind of sewing. "Caps" are hats for the head, and "booties" are socks for the feet.
V: Our lesson here is that when we do things for other people we are actually doing things for Jesus.
D: That is hard to believe.
V: Yes, people in the Bible were "incredulous" (or doubtful) too when they heard Jesus tell them the same thing.
D: Right. I wonder whom the Lord will send our way today.
V: I don't know. Let's talk about it later. Have a good one.

비키: 안녕히 주무셨어요, 여보?
단: 예, 당신도 잘 잤어요?
비키: 오늘 본문은 우리에게 필요 없는 많은 것들을 우리에게서 제거할 필요가 있다는 것을 말해주고 있어요.
단: 그렇지만 작가는 그녀가 기억해야 할 많은 것들을 찾았다고 해요.
비키: ‘Memorabilia’는 사람들에게 기억하게 해 주는 것을 말하는 것이에요.
단: 작가는 병원에서 환자에게 채워주는 팔찌나 주차요금 영수증 같은 것에서 좋은 기억을 해 낼 수 있었어요.
비키: ‘Parking stubs’는 작가가 주차요금을 낸 후에 받은 주차영수증이에요.
단: 또 친구들의 이름이 적혀 있는 카드들도 있었어요.
비키: 기억이 희미한 이름들도 있었다는군요.
단: ‘A dim light’는 꺼져가는 불빛을 말하는 것이에요. 그러니까, 희미한 기억이란 기억이 거의 없는 것을 말하지요.
비키: 작가는 그녀의 아기에게 뜨개질한 모자와 뜨개질한 양말을 선물한 부인들을 잘 기억했어요.
단: ‘Knitting’은 특별한 바느질을 말하는 것이고, ‘Caps’는 머리에 쓰는 모자, ‘booties’는 양말을 말하지요.
비키: 여기서 우리에게 주는 교훈은 우리가 다른 사람에게 무언가를 한다면 그것이 우리가 예수님께 한 일이라는 것이에요.
단: 그건 믿기 쉽지 않은데요.
비키: 그래요. 성경에 나오는 사람들도 예수님께서 그와 같이 말씀하셨을 때 쉽사리 믿지 못했어요.
단: 맞아요. 오늘은 예수님께서 누구를 우리의 삶 속에 보내실지 궁금하네요.
비키: 나도 모르지요. 이것에 대해서는 나중에 이야기하기로 해요. 좋은 하루 되세요.
